The area looks like different today since these several blocks have been torn down to make way for a larger hospital – Catholic Medical Center along with a shopping plaza. But if you stand on McGregor street (actually you’ll probably get hit by a car) on a quiet Sunday morning you can still hear the mills humming and unmistakable voices of the thousands of French Canadians that lived and worked in the area.
